The establishment of a Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University by Uttarakhand Science Education & Research Centre (USERC) aims to position the institution as a leader in bioinformatics research and education. The center will foster interdisciplinary collaboration, drive innovation, and contribute to the advancement of life sciences by leveraging cutting-edge computational tools and techniques. Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that combines biology, computer science, mathematics, and statistics to analyze and interpret biological data. Over the past few decades, the advent of high-throughput technologies such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), proteomics, and metabolomics has resulted in the generation of vast amounts of biological data. The need to analyze and derive meaningful insights from this data has led to the emergence of bioinformatics as a critical area of research and education.
