Event category Training session
About Event ASER is the largest citizen-led survey of children in rural India. Facilitated by Pratham and conducted every year since 2005, the survey seeks to understand children’s status of schooling and basic learning in India. Each year, almost all rural districts in the country are surveyed with the support of close to 25,000 volunteers from organizations and institutions. The team of Pratham Foundation will lead the training session on how to do surveys and data collection.
AIM of the Events
  • to explore the possibility of partnering with your college in the form of volunteer support.
  • will participate as volunteers to conduct the field survey for 6-7 villages in the district Dehradun.
  • A partnership with ASER will provide a unique opportunity for students to understand the on-ground realities of children’s education in rural India.
  • It would also acquaint students with primary research skills and the practical use of questionnaires.
  • It will enhance students skills as students will be provided with the certificates and remuneration(Rs. 1200 per village- 3 students per village; total 3 villages) on completion of the survey

  • Detailed study of questionnaire.
  • The difference between questionnaire and schedule.
  • How to ask questions while surveying.
  • Working with maps of the villages.
