About Event On the occasion of World Tourism Day which is celebrated on 27th September, 2023, “Heritage Club” of School of Architecture Planning and Design is organizing Cultural Heritage Article Writing”.

The topics are:

  • Local Cuisine & its connection to Heritage
  • Exploring Indigenous Traditions: learning from Elders.
  • Traditional Crafts & Architecture: Keeping Heritage Alive
  • Local Performing Arts & Festivals

Word limit : (800-1500) words

Instructions: Submit your articles with Your Name, Year, Programme & Department Name mentioned along with DBUU logo.

Last Date of Submission: 26th September 2023

Best two articles will be awarded with exciting prizes. Result will be announced on 27th September’2023 through DBUU Social media platforms.

AIM of the Events
  • Promoting Heritage Awareness: Encouraging participants and readers to become more aware of the importance of heritage architecture and cultural preservation in the context of tourism.
  • Celebrating World Tourism Day: Commemorating World Tourism Day by highlighting the role of heritage in tourism and emphasizing sustainable and responsible tourism practices.
  • Fostering Research and Creativity: Encouraging participants to research and explore various aspects of heritage architecture, thus fostering creativity and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
  • Supporting Journalism Skills: Providing a platform for aspiring and seasoned journalists to showcase their writing skills, storytelling abilities, and journalism expertise within the niche of cultural heritage
  • Raising Student Engagement: Engaging the students in discussions about heritage and tourism, creating a dialogue that can lead to increased interest, preservation efforts, and responsible tourism practices
Highlights
  • It will give the opportunities for participants to engage with indigenous communities, artisans, and culinary experts through interviews, conversations, and hands-on experiences to gather content for their articles.
  • To engage with the local community by interacting with them on indigenous knowledge, or craftwork, architecture fostering a sense of cultural exchange and unity.
