SDG-2 : ZERO HUNGER

Food insecurity remains a complex global challenge driven by climate variability, geopolitical instability, supply chain disruptions, and post-pandemic socioeconomic impacts. Achieving food and nutrition security requires a multidisciplinary approach that integrates sustainable agriculture, technological innovation, policy interventions, and behavioral change.

Dev Bhoomi University aligns its academic and research framework with SDG 2 by fostering advancements in sustainable food systems and nutrition security. The university emphasizes climate-resilient agricultural practices, resource-efficient crop production, and the promotion of nutritionally balanced diets. It also integrates awareness programs on food loss minimization and sustainable consumption patterns within its academic and campus initiatives.

From a research and implementation perspective, the institution actively promotes the development of fortified food products and plant-based protein alternatives to address micronutrient deficiencies and support dietary diversification. Furthermore, it encourages the adoption of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and data analytics for precision nutrition monitoring and decision-making.

The university strengthens experiential and technology-driven learning through the establishment of farming laboratories, the application of geospatial and data-driven tools in agriculture, and the adoption of smart farming systems utilizing advanced machinery and IoT-based solutions. In addition, institutional support for agri-entrepreneurship and startup incubation facilitates the translation of research outcomes into scalable and market-oriented solutions.

While advanced domains such as 3D food printing and controlled-environment agriculture (including space farming) are still in nascent stages within the Indian context, the university promotes exploratory research and innovation in these areas. Such initiatives aim to build future- ready competencies among students and contribute to the development of resilient, sustainable, and technology-enabled global food systems.
